路加福音2：8在伯利恆的郊外，有一些牧人在夜間看守羊群。9主的一位使者站在他們旁邊，主的榮光四面照著他們，他們就非常害怕。
Luke 2: 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping
watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and
the glory of the Lord shone 12你們要找到一個嬰孩，包著布，臥在馬槽裡，那就是記號了。”13忽然有一大隊天兵，同那天使一起讚美神說：14“在至高之處，榮耀歸與神！在地上，平安歸與他所喜悅的人！”

12 This will be a sign to you: You will
find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and
saying, 14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom
his favor rests."
15眾天使離開他們升天去了，那些牧人彼此說：“我們往伯利恆去，看看主所指示我們已經成就的事。”16他們急忙去了，找到馬利亞、約瑟和那臥在馬槽裡的嬰孩。

15 When the angels had left them and gone
into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened,
which the Lord has told us about." 16 So they hurried off and found Mary
and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.
17他們見過以後，就把天使對他們論這孩子的話傳開了。18聽見的人，都希奇牧人所說的事。
17 When they had seen him, they spread
the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who
heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
撒母耳記上17：34大衛對掃羅說：“你僕人是為父親放羊的，有時獅子或熊來了，從羊群中抓去一隻小羊，35我就出去追趕牠，擊打牠，從牠的嘴裡把小羊救出來。如果牠起來攻擊我，我就揪住牠的鬍鬚，擊打牠，把牠殺死。
1 Samuel 17:34 But David said to Saul, "Your
servant has been keeping
his father's sheep.
When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued
the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck
it and killed it.
36你僕人不但擊殺過獅子，也擊殺過熊。這個未受割禮的非利士人也必像一隻獅子或熊一樣，因為他向永活的神的軍隊罵陣。”37大衛又說：“那曾救我脫離獅爪和熊掌的耶和華，也必救我脫離這非利士人的手。”於是掃羅對大衛說：“你去吧！願耶和華與你同在。”
36 Your servant has killed both the lion and
the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he
has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The LORD who delivered me from the paw of
the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this
Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."
路加福音2：15眾天使離開他們升天去了，那些牧人彼此說：“我們往伯利恆去，看看主所指示我們已經成就的事。”16他們急忙去了，找到馬利亞、約瑟和那臥在馬槽裡的嬰孩。
Luke 2: 15 When the angels had left them

馬太福音2：1希律王執政的時候，耶穌生在猶太的伯利恆。那時，有幾個占星家從東方來到耶路撒冷，2說：“那生下來作猶太人的王的在哪裡？我們看見他的星出現，特來朝拜他。”3希律王聽見了就心裡不安，全耶路撒冷的居民也是這樣。
Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in
Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked,
"Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in
the east and have come to worship him." 3 When King Herod heard this he
was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him
4他就召集所有的祭司長和民間的經學家，問他們基督應該生在哪裡。5他們回答：“在猶太的伯利恆。因為有先知在經上這樣說：6‘猶大地的伯利恆啊！你在猶大的領袖中，並不是最小的，因為必有一位領袖從你那裡出來，牧養我的子民以色列。’”
4 When he had called together all the
people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ
was to be born. 5 "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for
this is what the prophet has written: 6 "`But you, Bethlehem, in the land
of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will
come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.' "
7希律暗中把占星家召來，仔細查問他們，那顆星甚麼時候出現，8然後派他們到伯利恆去，說：“你們去細心尋訪那小孩，找到了就向我報告，好叫我也去拜他。”
9他們聽命去了。他們在東方看見的那顆星，忽然在他們前頭，領他們到那小孩所在的地方，就在上頭停住了。
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and
found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8 He sent them to
Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon
as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him." 9 After they had heard the king, they went on
their way, and the
star they had seen in
the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child
was.
10他們看見那顆星，歡喜極了；11進了房子，看見小孩和他母親馬利亞，就俯伏拜他，並且打開寶盒，把黃金、乳香、沒藥作禮物獻給他。
10 When they saw the star, they were
overjoyed. 11
On coming to the house, they saw the
child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they
opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.
